BlueTIDE 2026: What You Need to Know Before the May 28 Application Deadline

BlueTIDE 2026 is fast approaching—and so is the deadline to be part of one of the most dynamic maritime technology demonstration opportunities in the country.

With applications for the Collaborative Integration Opportunity due by 11:59 PM ET on May 28, 2026, interested companies have limited time to apply to demonstrate their technologies in a live, mission-driven environment.

What is BlueTIDE?

BlueTIDE is an annual, high-impact technology demonstration event held in Newport, Rhode Island, culminating this year on August 27, 2026. The event brings together innovators, defense stakeholders, investors, and industry leaders for:

  • In-water demonstrations within a collaborative mission scenario
  • Showcase Alley featuring static and shoreside tech displays
  • Networking and one-on-one meetings with Department of Defense (DoD), Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC) – Division Newport, and venture capital representatives
  • Data collection and feedback from real-world demonstrations

Why Participate?

BlueTIDE is more than a one-day event—it’s a launchpad for ongoing collaboration and opportunity.

“It’s not: come, put something in the water… and then go off. Our mission is to really connect everyone beyond BlueTIDE,” Larsen explained. “We want and encourage all participating companies to collaborate and integrate with each other. Being able to show how your technology integrates with others is a big part of BlueTIDE.”

Participants will have opportunities to connect with other companies prior to the event, integrate with platforms like Anduril Industries’ Lattice, and engage in one-on-one meetings with NUWC, industry, and investors.

In addition, participants also gain direct access to DoD evaluators and decision-makers, opportunities for follow-on engagement with NUWC and partners, exposure to investors and funding pathways, and a chance to demonstrate technology in realistic operational conditions.

Notably, participation is free. There are no additional charges.

How the Application Process Works

Companies interested in the Collaborative Integration Opportunity (in-water demonstration) in one of the focus areas – Multi-Domain Autonomous Systems (UxS), Counter-UxS and Defensive Capabilities, Maritime & Undersea Domain Awareness, or Modeling, Simulation & Digital Environments – must submit:

  • An online application
  • Up to five pages of supporting documentation (white paper, capability statement, or slides)

Applications will be evaluated based on:

  • Technology maturity
  • Relevance to mission needs
  • Ability to demonstrate in an operational scenario

Selected applicants will advance to virtual demonstrations on June 4, 5, 8, and 9, where they will present to a panel of experts.

Each selected company receives:

  • A 20-minute demonstration
  • Followed by a 10-minute Question & Answer session with evaluators

Key Questions Answered During the May 21 Ask Me Anything Webinar

Question: What makes a strong application?

Answer: “Treat that 20 minutes as a true demonstration versus a presentation or pitch,” said Linda Larsen.

  • Focus on demonstrating your technology—not pitching it.
  • Show validation, testing, and real-world capability.

Question: Can I apply to multiple focus areas?

Answer: Yes. If your technology fits multiple categories, you are encouraged to apply to each.

Question: Will there be support available to facilitate interoperability with larger mission software suites?

Answer: Yes. Once a company has confirmed their interest, 1:1 technical meetings and technical support will be provided.

Question: What if I’m not selected for in-water demonstrations?

Answer: You may still be invited to exhibit in Showcase Alley, with priority given to applicants.

Question: Will there be opportunities to connect with partners?

Answer: Yes. Participants can collaborate before and during the event, with facilitated introductions.

Question: Is funding available?

Answer: Limited funding may be available to support travel and equipment for selected companies.

Don’t Miss the Deadline

The clock is ticking.

“We need your applications prior to 11:59 PM [ET] on May 28,” Larsen emphasized.

Whether you’re developing autonomous systems, advanced sensors, or digital mission tools, BlueTIDE offers a rare opportunity to test, validate, and showcase your technology in front of the people who matter most.
